Demolition Excavator Simulator Showcases PC490HRD
The Komatsu simulator module for demolition excavators is based on the PC490HRD and features Komatsu’s unique K100 boom change system.
The simulator includes the authentic K100 Human Machine Interface (HMI), allowing the operator to perform all boom change procedures. The simulation includes three different booms in multiple configurations as well as specific scenarios for demolition work.
There is an extra top screen which gives a realistic sensation when working with the high reach or extended high reach configuration.
K100 Quick Boom Change System
The K100 boom change system allows the operator of the PC490HRD machine to change the boom configuration in minutes without leaving the operator cab – and without any outside assistance.
The simulator includes all of the PC490HRD boom options so the operator can easily access the full potential of the PC490HRD machine through the K100 Boom Change System.
With a total of six different working configurations, from the awesome 32m extended high reach through the powerful 28m high reach to the mighty medium reach and digging equipment, the operator can bring the correct power to bear at every stage of the project.
Patented K100 technology allows the digging boom to be mounted in either cranked or straight configuration, reducing the number of equipment pieces required.
Integrated K100 HMI
Using the Komatsu step-by-step training approach, the demolition excavator simulator module guides the operator through the boom change process and how to use the fully integrated original K100 HMI.
With fully simulated camera feeds and sensor simulation, the operator can practice changing the boom configuration in a realistic environment without exposing themself or the machine to potential danger.
Additional Top Monitor
The demolition excavator module is optimized to be an add-on to the three screen configuration of the KCS 600.
To give a realistic experience when working in high reach or extended high reach configuration, the module includes an extra screen which easily attaches to the standard screen assembly for the KCS 600.
Combined with the integrated tilting cab function, the fourth screen gives an unparalleled operator experience during high reach work.
Scenarios and Situations
The demolition excavator module includes a total of 9 different training scenarios featuring multiple tools and boom configurations:
Featured attachments:
- Standard bucket
- Grapple
- Hydraulic Hammer
- Hydraulic Shears, MRD (Medium Reach Demolition) & HRD (High Reach Demolition)
- Hydraulic Concrete Crusher
K100 boom features:
- Open Boom docking training
- Boom docking assessment
- Service operations
A large number of (configurable) operator errors are tracked and each scenario is graded based on the task at hand. A report is generated after each scenario to give insight about the operator’s performance.
The Demolition Excavator simulator module also features a simplistic version of the instructor’s station, allowing the instructor to control the external camera position and view statistics as the scenario progresses.
Language Support
The demolition excavator module is prepared to be localized for multiple regions. Let us know which language you are interested in.
